On #InternationalHumanRightsDay (and every day) NIRWN is proud to join with our civil society colleagues calling for an end to political vetoes on delivering a Bill of Rights for NI.
Over 50 s civil society organisations signed a letter expressing our concern at political vetoes being used to block progress on a Bill of Rights NI; a 23 year outstanding Good Friday Agreement commitment and indeed a New Decade, New Approach commitment.
The letter has now been sent to TEO and copied to both governments and the leaders of the five main parties represented on the Ad-Hoc Committee. We have asked for meetings with all of those groups to seek their support in addressing our concerns.
The letter also features in an article in the Irish Times. Please see this article and a tweet promoting it here.
