NIRWN engages in policy development processes to promote the equality and visibility of rural women and their contribution to our communities. This includes:
• Responding to policy consultations
• Engaging with policy makers
• Submissions to regional, national and international bodies
• Advocacy and lobbying for change
RURAL WOMEN’S POLICY FORUM
NIRWN host and provide secretariat for the Rural Women’s Policy Forum which meets quarterly.
The Forum members are enabled to share their knowledge and expertise and develop agreed positions on key policy issues.
The Forum provides opportunities for NIRWN members to meet with Government and statutory decision makers and policy developers and other relevant agencies on issues of mutual interest for rural women.
