We are recruiting! Join our Team!
NIRWN currently has the following job opportunity available.
Women’s Spaces Co-ordinator (Rural)
NIRWN is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and motivated person to join our staff team to increase the capacity of NIRWN to engage directly with rural women regionally in NI.
The Women’s Spaces Co ordinator (Rural) will be a dedicated point of contact and delivery support for rural women across the region. You will work specifically on the new Women’s Spaces Project providing: advocacy expertise, training delivery and awareness raising which aims to promote gender equality. You be responsible for the rural coordination and delivery of the Project.
Women’s Spaces project aims to build a platform for women to engage in peace-building and civic and political life, in line with UN Security Council Resolution 1325, through an innovative programme focused on building women’s capacity to take their rightful place as leaders in society. The project is intended to strengthen women’s voice in peacebuilding, by giving women the skills and tools to engage in peacebuilding and community development and creating opportunities for women of all backgrounds to share their stories and create an evidence base to inform future work.
The project will work on a region wide basis covering all Northern Ireland. There will be a specific emphasis on including rural areas and areas of disadvantage, as women in these areas typically have fewer opportunities to engage in projects of this kind, and the project is designed to ensure this deficit is addressed. The Project is a partnership Project with Women’s Platform, Women’s Resource & Development Agency, Women’s Support Network (WSN) and NIRWN.
